A small business is a company that is privately owned and operated, with a few employees and relatively low volume of sales. Small businesses can also be classified according to other methods such as sales, assets or net earnings.

Typical examples are: grocery stores, other small shops (such as a bakery, meat), hairdressers, tradesmen, lawyers, accountants, restaurants, guest houses, photographers, small-scale production, and business online, such as web design, programming, etc..
